Flying on a plane can be rough… especially if you don’t like flying on planes. And it can be especially rough when children have meltdowns during flights. Parents can try to calm them down but that often doesn’t do a whole lot of good.
One couple was having trouble dealing with their young son on a flight. Young Xayvior was flying back home to Omaha, Nebraska, with his parents when he started acting up. He had just been diagnosed with autism, as well as another medical condition, and his parents didn’t really know how to deal with him. They tried to calm him down, but it didn’t seem to do any good.
But then, as the parents were becoming frustrated with the situation, a young flight attendant walked up to them and asked if she could hold their young son and give him a tour of the plane. The mother, Sonja, was a little hesitant, worried that her son might accidentally harm the flight attendant. But the woman assured the mother that everything would be fine.
So she took Xayvior on a tour of the plane, and when they came back a few minutes later, the little boy was fine… and had calmed down. He even looked happy, and he gave the nice flight attendant some kisses on the cheek before she handed him back over to his amazed parents.
The family was extremely grateful to the kind Delta Airlines flight attendant, and posted about their experience on Facebook, hoping that she would get the recognition she deserves for her genuine compassion.
