Maureen Hatcher of Florida just loves her loyal and faithful companions, Bella and Sadie, both lab retrievers.
One day, Maureen was home alone with the labs when she started feeling funny, and she knew something was really wrong. Then she collapsed to the floor. When she looked up a few seconds later, she could see Sadie walking into the room, and she uttered three words that may WELL have saved her life: Mommy needs help.
Both dogs quickly ran off and out the front door… because it had trouble latching. They ran across the street and got the attention of a neighbor with their barking. The neighbor followed the dogs back to their home and found Maureen on the floor. She quickly called 911 and EMTs were able to get her quickly to the hospital.
It was soon learned that Maureen had suffered a stroke. Surgeons were able to remove a blood clot from her neck, the cause of the stroke. Bella and Sadie saved Maureen’s life by alerting their neighbor that something was wrong.
What better companions could you ask for?
