Having a miscarriage is a very sad thing for any couple. Melissa Kayser had 9 of them, and she had lost all hope of ever becoming a mom. Her doctor suggested a surrogate mother.
Says Melissa: “I was devastated because you think as women we are literally born to do one thing and that’s to reproduce and when you can’t do that one thing you feel like a failure. I didn’t know if I could emotionally handle another woman being able to carry my child.”
And then, Melissa’s big sister, Lisa, stepped in, and offered to carry a baby for her. Lisa said she couldn’t stand watching her sister go through loss after loss. So she had two embryos implanted in her, and both of them took.
Nine months later, she had twins. And Melissa was finally a mother, extremely grateful to her big sis.
